Purpose: To understand the impact of football on the physical and mental development of young children from the perspective of parents. Methods: The cross-sectional questionnaire method was used to distribute questionnaires during 2018 VIVA Cup Youth Football Game. The recovery rate of all 720 questionnaires was 66.3%, and 478 were collected. Frequencies and distribution plots were analyzed. Results: Most parents affirm that football has a positive impact on the physical and mental development of their children. In addition, the bimodal diagram in the distribution plots also shows that most parents’ opinions are moderately agreed and some parents are highly agreed. There are similarities in the distribution of parental opinions in three groups divided by football age. Conclusion: Under its organizational, structural, and team-based education and training, parents obviously feel that football has significantly improved the physical fitness, health and sports skills of young children.
