摘要

This studey aimed to investigate the differences in physical activity level of the participants who belonged to five exercise stages. Seventy male undergraduates parcipated in this study and were grouped, by exercise stages classfication scale, into five exercise stages. A questionnaire (3-day physical activity recall, 3DPAR) was used to collect data about their exercise records during the previous three days. The collected data was analyzed statistically by One-way ANOVA and T-test, repeated measures, The level of significanceset at α = .05.The findings are as follows: First, 38.57% of the freshmen enrolled in 2009 had no exercise habits or intention in this field. Second, the participants in the five exercise stages showed significant differences in everyday activity, everyday hard activity, and three-day hard activity. (p < .05) Third, on holidays, students tended to be more inactive. Fourth, on holidays, students did less regular exercise. For the 2009 freshmen in this university, teachers should focus on how to guide students toward exercise habits, and encourage them to exercise more on holidays.
