Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the outcomes and experiences related to the development and transfer of life skills among elementary school children who participate in rope skipping. Methods: Using a multiple case study approach, data were gathered from 14 participants (6 students, 6 parents, and 2 coaches). Thematic analysis was employed to compare, analyze, and summarize the interview data, leading to the identification of meaningful conceptual themes. Results: Schoolchildren developed 10 essential life skills: practicing teamwork, managing themselves, setting and attaining goals, regulating emotions and managing stress, leading, communicating interpersonally and interacting socially, solving problems, persevering, taking responsibility, and viewing winning and losing in a balanced manner. These skills were subsequently applied in various settings such as home, school, and other daily life situations. The cognitive processes exhibited by children further underscored the evidence for the development and transfer of these life skills. Conclusion: Participation in rope skipping offers an effective avenue for schoolchildren to develop and apply life skills. The cognitive process plays a pivotal role in this development and transfer. Therefore, integrating life skills into school physical education and extracurricular activities, and placing emphasis on the cognitive processes of students, can substantially enhance their overall development and equip them for future challenges.
