台灣玻璃工藝產業設計策略之初探

A Preliminary Study of Design Strategy for the Glass Craft Industry in Taiwan

摘要


1970年代是台灣玻璃工藝製造和外銷蓬勃發展的時期,當時台灣擁有聖誕燈泡和玻璃飾品輸出王國的美譽,台灣玻璃工藝品也成為玻璃產業外銷的主流。近幾年來隨著台灣社會的開放與轉變、經濟的自由化與國際化發展以及生產成本激增、環保等問題給業界不小的衝擊,又受到東南亞與中國大陸的強烈競爭及新的消費行為與品味潮流影響,使得台灣玻璃工藝產業越來越面臨經營的困境。有鑑於此本文主要目的是以產品設計的角度研究如何運用設計策略以提升台灣玻璃工藝產業的設計功能及市場的競爭力。經由相關文獻的探討、廠商的訪查及市場的觀察等資料的分析、歸納與整理之初步結果,其設計策略應該包含下列幾項:文化性的題材、創意性的造形、感性的情境設計、美感及精緻性等產品設計方針。希望能配合目前政府推動的文化創意產業,促進台灣玻璃工藝產業升級,期盼能再開創其產業的新紀元。

In the 70's, it was at the peak of glass craft production and exportation of Taiwan. Taiwan was tagged as the ”export country” of Christmas lights and glass accessories. During then, Taiwan g lass craft became the mainstream of the export products of the glass manufacturing industry. However, in the recent years, with the tremendous change of society, the liberalization of its economy, and the internationalization the glass industry has encountered significant impacts by the higher costs and environmental conservation problems. This is further aggravated by the strong competition that has risen from Southeast Asian countries and the PROC, as well as the new consumer trends and behavior. As a result, the Taiwan glass craft industry is being pushed further into a quagmire of economic problems. In order to strengthen the Taiwanese glass craft industry competitiveness, an effective design strategy is essentially necessary. Via the literature studies and interviews with the experts some preliminary results have been resolved such as cultural traits, innovative form, sensational scenario designs, and aesthetic and sophisticated design quality.
