The founder of the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, Mr. Lin Hwai-min, invited me to design a dance curriculum for young children in 1995. For three years I worked with other teachers as a team on the project. After different stages of planning, discussion, modification, pilot teaching and editing, the curriculum was finally implemented in 1998.By reviewing related literature and my personal observations, this paper aims to introduce the origin of the curriculum titled ”Life Rhythm Curriculum” to reveal its rationale and structure, as well as to further explore its execution.On the one hand, the paper is like my personal record, which helps people understand deeply the Life Rhythm Curriculum for young children aged four to six at the Cloud Gate Dance School. On the other hand, it is expected that this will make people aware of the value and importance of dance education by offering next generations a better learning environment to achieve body-mind coordination.
