Extraction of Fish Oil for the Production of Fish Protein Concentrate: A Laboratory Scale Study

摘要


本研究主要是利用己烷、異丙醇,和共沸異丙醇三種溶劑,在不同溫度下進行實驗室規模橫流和逆流多段萃取實驗,以製造魚類蛋白質濃縮物。本研究的最後產品,其含油量不得高於0.5%(重量百分比)。製造FPC所用的原料是HTM離心餅,它是由Haynie公司Cape Charles廠所供應。實驗結果顯示,以共沸異丙醇為溶劑在高溫下(77°C)下進行五段橫流萃取,可將HTM餅的含油量降至0.5%以下。同樣地,以己院和共沸異丙醇兩種溶劑進行混合萃取,即前四段以己燒在低溫下(27°C)進行萃取,緊接著後三投以共沸異丙醇在高溫下(77°C)進行萃取,也可將HTM餅的含油量降至0.5%以下,符合我們的要求。後者(混合操作)的實驗數據可供做設計大規模双萃取操作系統之用。

In this study, laboratory scale crosscurrent and countercurrent oil extractions at different temperatures using solvents hexane, isopropyl alcohol (lPA), and azeotropic isopropyl alcohol (AIPA) for the production of fish protein Concentrate (FPC) were presented. The specification placed on our final product for this study was that the oil content should not exceed 0.5 % by weight. The raw material, HTM centrifuge cake, was made from menhaden by the Haynie Corporation at their Cape Charles, Virginia plant. The results of laboratory scale experiments show that a five stage crosscurrent extract ion with AIPA at high temperature (77°C) will produce FPC with an oil content below 0.5 %. A four stage hexane at cold temperature (27°C), followed by a three stage AIPA extraction at high temperature (77°C) can also reduce the oil content below 0.5 %. The latter data is of particular importance to design a commercial scale dual system process.
