This study aims at exploring the relationship between beginning school principals' leading role of competing value and elementary school teachers' professional commitment. First, the researcher gathered studies which were related to the difficulties that the beginning school principals ' needed to face, the role of competing value and elementary school teachers ' teaching commitment, and then the researcher explored and analyzed all collected studies and data. According to the data, the researcher proposed study structure and developed a questionnaire entitled "The Questionnaire of the Relationship between Beginning School Principals' Leading Role of Competing Value and Elementary School Teachers' Professional Commitment - A Case Study in Elementary Schools in Kaohsiung County and City" as the instrument to achieve the purpose of the study. Regarding contestants' responses to the questionnaire, the conclusions implied by statistical results are stated as follows: 1. Elementary school teachers' professional commitment is growing along with the aggressiveness of how the beginning school principals are playing the competing-value leading role. 2. Beginning principals' competing-value leading role is significantly predictive on the "internal process" and "supervisor" parts of teachers' professional commitment.
