日治時期初始臺語教材作者俁野保和與岩永六一之考察

Two Authors of Taiwanese Language Teaching Textbooks at the First Period of Japanese Occupation Era

摘要


日治時期出版的臺語教材,尤其是屬於最初期的臺語教材有不少編輯上的失誤與混亂,而且含有不少非臺語之特徴。雖説是臺語教材,但除了與日語相似的句子之外,有時還具有明顯受到北京話影響的語法成分。因此,要提及最初期臺語教材的特徴與價値時,須先探討這些教材到底由甚麼樣的人,施以甚麼樣的編輯過程,然而前人研究似乎從未著眼於此。本研究將以日治時期最初的兩本臺語教材為對象,結合筆者所査到的相關事證及零星資料,針對「比志島混成支隊」(登陸於澎湖島的日軍部隊)的軍隊翻譯官錄用過程,以及兩書作者俣野保和與岩永六一在澎湖與臺灣本島的譯事活動進行深入探討。透過這項考察刻畫兩位翻譯官的人物形象,以凸顯重新評估這兩本臺語教材所顯現的價値與特徴。

Among the Taiwanese textbooks for Japanese people that have been published in Japanese occupation era, especially those of the first period, there are confusions and contradictions in their contents and many non -Taiwanese elements were contained in them. Not only did these textbooks contain Japanese elements, but even Mandarin elements were significantly observed. Thus, in order to make reference to characteristics and values of these textbooks, it is necessary to examine who edited them and what processes these editions went through. However, no studies have been found so far from this point of view. This paper makes reference to two such textbooks of such age. On the basis of fragmental pieces of data gathered by the author, this paper first clarifies the process of how the interpretation officer of Hishijima Konseishitai, was employed and the interpretation activities by two textbook editors, Matano Yasukazu and Iwanaga Rokuichi. Secondly, images of the two interpreters which come out of the above clarification are described, the relationship between their images and the contents of these textbooks are analyzed and characteristics and values of these textbooks are reconsidered in this paper.
