The US-China trade war began in the end of 2018, which has accelerated the transformation of global supply chain. China's neighboring countries in Southeast Asia are gradually emerged with cheap production costs. This article overviews the export of Taiwan's machine tools to major countries in Southeast Asia. Analyzing the imports data and recent manufacturing-related situations in various countries allow us to find out their current and future needs of machine tools. In the case that the application industry of the metal processing manufacturing which is gradually saturated, only transferring or restructuring of the supply chain can drive the demand for capital goods. Therefore, mastering the development of the manufacturing industry is particularly important for the development of machine tools.
