Interdisciplinary research is not only important, but a pressing issue in the twenty-first century. In the face of the increasing global warming, spread of epidemics, and the threat of a post-human era, humans are confronting unprecedented problems and experiences with the environment, technology, and society. Inspiring or enhancing the "sympathy" among different fields is the key to encompassing diverse experiences and responding to the problems with each other. This paper is a collaborative work of researchers from literature, philosophy, geography, and psychology, focusing, in particular, on such themes for dialogues as "spatio-temporal awareness," "systems of understanding," and the "importance of description." It aims to shed light on possibilities in achieving "sympathy."
