As Guangzhou has developed into a gateway city of south China, which connects different global cities, the context of Guangzhou youth has changed. They have to adapt the fierce competition and the unstable demand of labor market. Fortunately, their expectation for upward social mobility makes them keep coping with their situation by modifying their strategies. The experience of Guangzhou youth reflects that, more or less, the policies of the state and local governance are prominent in constructing the local social groups and industries, as well as to the formation and identification of the youth under globalization and regionalization.
