警察繁重的工作壓力與憂鬱症的產生有關,而憂鬱症和工作失能、較差的生活品質相關。本研究為橫斷性研究,結合多次的心理衛生講座作問卷篩選,使用簡易生活品質量表-12 (12-item Short Form, SF-12)以及災難相關症狀篩檢表(Disaster- Related Psychologial Screening Test, DRPST),來評估六百位高雄市警務人員的憂鬱症狀與生活品質以及相關的危險因子,並建立相關因子間的結構模式。研究結果發現21.8%的警務人員可能有憂鬱症,分局警察的壓力與憂鬱症比率是最高的。有抽菸、經濟壓力、工作壓力、家庭問題者較易有憂鬱症。而工作壓力的次分項當中的長官要求和勤務繁重以及家庭問題中的聚少離多、 感情不順和小孩教養問題可用來預測憂鬱症。年齡越大則活力的分數越高,高教育程度者心理層面的生活品質分數較高;而憂鬱症則同時是心理和生理生活品質最重要的影響因子。結構模式發現抽菸會影響憂鬱症,進而影響心理層面之生活品質。由本研究的結果可得知警察的心理健康問題不容忽視。壓力與抽菸和憂鬱症有關,而憂鬱症同時影響生理和心理層面的生活品質。
The enormous job stress of police work is correlated with depression, which is highly correlated with work disability and poor quality of life. We investigated the quality of life, the probability of depression for 600 police officers in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. This is a cross-sectional study using a self-administered questionnaire which combined with a serius of speeches about mental health. We assessed the quality of life, estimated rate of probable major depression, and the related risk factors for 832 police officers in Kaohsiung using the 12-item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-12) and the Disaster-Related Psychological Screening Test (DRPST). The results revealed that the estimated rate of probable major depression was 21.8%, and the percentage of stressors and depression for policemen belong to substations were highest. Smoking, economic stressors, job stressors and family problems are correlated with depression. Family problems concerning little time to get together with families, disharmony of marriage, and child-upbringing problems predicted depression. Job stressors concerning the requests of commanding officers, and heavy workload also predicted depression. Old age police officers got higher scores in vitality. Those with higer educational level had higher scores in mental aspects of quality of life. Depression was the most important predictors of both physical and mental aspects of quality of life. The Structure Equation Modeling showed that smoking is correlated with depression, which in turn affected mental component summary (MCS).According the results of this study; we have to pay attention to the mental health problems of the police pfficers. Stress and smoking are correlated with depression, and depression affected both physical and mental aspects of quality of life.
