山寨手機由2004年的5.3%市佔率逐年大幅成長至2008年的40%,顯示山寨手機非常受到中國大陸消費者的青睞,所以才能在短短的4年時間內市場成長超過8倍並且席捲中國大陸的手機市場。 本研究分析重點在論述山寨手機供應鏈與Nokia星網園區供應鏈的差異來推論山寨手機成功的因子,再與Clock-Speed(Fine. 1998)研究分析出PC產業由1975~1985垂直產業結構於1985~1995年間轉變為水平產業結構的歷史軌跡,及手機市場的趨勢,來推論山寨手機供應鏈未來可能的發展。 本研究發現山寨手機的成功,歸因於有效率的設計流程、零件標準化、價格優勢與聯發科手機晶片的催化等四項因子。其次,本研究發現聯發科在山寨手機擔任如Clone PC中Wintel(Windows + Intel)的角色;然後依PC的歷史軌跡推論一線手機大廠將無法持續維持整合性供應鏈的優勢,水平模組化供應鏈將成為趨勢。因此,本研究的貢獻在於提供相關資訊與推論給知識密集度與技術門檻高的手機產業及其供應鏈,做為未來制定營運策略的參考。
Shanzhai mobile phone’s market share grew up sharply from 5.3% of year 2004 to 40% of year 2008, and it showed that many consumers in mainland China prefer Shanzhai mobile phone. Shanzhai mobile phone market share could grow up more than 8 times during just 4 years and the mainland China mobile phone market. This study focus on the differences of the successful factors between “Nokia Star Network Industrial Park mobile phone supply chain” and “Shanzhai mobile phone supply chain”. And referred from the Clock-Speed’s (Fine. 1998) study, the PC industry structure’s historical trajectory from 1975~1985 (vertical structure) to 1985~1995 (horizontal structure), We can infer the trend of the mobile phone market and suggest mobile phone supply chain possible development. Due to these four factors (efficient design process, parts standardization, price advantage and MediaTek mobile phone chip catalysis), this study found what the successful reasons of Shanzhai mobile phone are. Secondly, the study also found that MediaTek’s role with mobile phone is the same as the Clone PC with Wintel (Windows + Intel). Then according from the PC historical trajectory, current major phone makers will be unable to continue to maintain the advantages of integrated supply chain , horizontal level modular supply chain will become the trend. Therefore, the contributions of this study are to provide the relevant & available information and inference to mobile phone industries and its supply chain which needs high knowledge-intensive & high-technologic level. They can refer this study for the future development of operation strategy.
