服務導向的網路管理機制

摘要

隨著網路技術蓬勃的發展，網路所提供的服務日趨多樣化，很多的應用服務都是由多個服務整合成一個應用服務，這樣的型態對使用者而言就是一個應用服務，使用者完全不知道是由哪些服務整合而成，當這每個服務無回應或停止運作時，使用者也只會回報此單一問題，但對網路管理者來說，就需要找出到底是那一個環節出問題。現行的監測技術通常是為監測單一服務或設備所發展的，以應用服務為觀點的網路管理技術日趨重要。本研究提出一個服務導向的網路管理機制，此機制使用XML 文件描述影響應用服務的服務集合，日常的網路監測工作可以參考XML文件有效找出應用服務發生問題真正原因。

Many new Internet services appear along with the development of Internet technologies. Many of them are actually “Mash-Up” services, which are a combination of individual services. Usually, users have no idea about what they are composed of. Thus, when a single service fails to respond or stops working, the service users will simply report the failure of the service itself. However, it is crucial for network management to figure out the cause of the problem. Current network management technologies are developed for monitoring individual network services/devices. Therefore, there is a demand for an effective network management scheme from the perspective of services. This thesis proposes a service-oriented approach for the monitoring of mash-up Internet services. In the proposed approach, a mash-up service is described in an XML document, which indicates the set of other services used by the service. Network monitoring tasks may consult those XML documents to efficiently determine the causes of a service failure.
