The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduces the motivation and objectives of the thesis writing through introductory analysis of the experienced scholars’ works on Han-shan. Research method and process are also stated here.The second chapter is mainly focused on how the Han-shan poems were disseminated. Two major terms, what the “same rhymed verse and modeled poetry” is, are explained and who Han-shan was. Then, the development of Han-shan Poems was pondered from a cultural perspective. Such same-rhymed-verse-and-modeled-poetry written by Wang-Anshi and Su-shi is discussed in the third chapter. The forth chapter is centered on the discussion of monks’ points of views of Han-shan poetry during the Song Dynasty. The fifth concludes all the ideas carried out in the thesis.
