摘要


高分子材料為材料科學的三大材料(即金屬、陶瓷、高分子)之一。眾所周知,高分子塑膠材料具有許多特點,如質輕、強度大、耐腐蝕、易加工等等,特別是20世紀50年代之後,迅速發展的高性能、多功能塑膠材料,隨著電子電器、汽車工業、訊息技術、航空航太及國防軍事等應用,不僅可以節約能量、節省材料、增加功能、延長壽命,從而降低成本、適應環保及經濟持續發展需求。不僅可代替金屬做結構材料,伴隨高科技技術產業的發展,成為不可缺少的材料。 本文針對高分子材料聚醚醚酮(PEEK)、超高分子量聚乙烯(UHMW-PE)兩種高分子材料,利用環-盤對(ring-on-disc)試件,在不同轉速與負載的對偶配對下進行磨耗試驗,探討其摩擦與磨耗性能,以及所產生的溫度變化與磨潤性質之關係,並利用光學顯微鏡觀察上述高分子材料表面的摩擦、磨耗機制與現象。

It would be difficult to imagine our modern world without plastics. Plastics offer advantages such as lightness, resilience, resistance to corrosion, color fastness, transparency, ease of processing, etc., and although they have their limitations, their exploitation is limited only by the ingenuity of the designer. Polymers and their composites are widely used in machine elements. They are being used widely often as engineering materials for technical applications in which tribological properties are of considerable importance. The tribological behavior of poly(ether-ether-ketone) (PEEK) and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) in sliding contact will be studied. The specimens used in the wear and friction test are a pair of ring and disc. The tribological characteristics of polymers can be measured under specific contact stresses combined with a wide range of sliding speeds under well-controlled conditions. Particularly, polymer material is very sensitive to the temperature. The temperatures of the disc will be measured and calculated by thermocouples. Therefore, the wear property and surface temperature will be investigated to find the relationship between them. The wear mechanisms of worn specimen surfaces are examined by the optical microscope. The relationship between wear behavior and thermal effect is established.
