The purposes of technical-art education program for junior high school students include exploring vocational aptitudes, experiencing vocational courses, and developing multiple intelligences. The technical-art education program consists of two stages: career exploration in eighth grade and vocational course enrollment in ninth grade. Though the technical-art education program was available for many years, the performance of the program is an interesting research topic. In this thesis, the profiles of 651 students who had graduated in 2014 from a junior high school in Kaohsiung city were analyzed. There are 9 groups of vocational courses available for students. For the first semester of the ninth grade, there were 296 students enrolled in the vocational courses. Moreover, 359 students enrolled the vocational courses in the second semester of the ninth grade. The analysis results show that more male students enter vocational high schools than female students did. Most of the male students selected the departments of engineering. Moreover, the number of students who enrolled in the technical-art education program and entered the vocational high schools is greater than the number of the students who did not enrolled in the technical-art education program and entered the vocational high schools. The number of students who enrolled in the technical-art education program for two semesters and entered vocational high schools is greater than the number of students who enrolled in the technical-art education program for only one semester. Thus, the technical-art education program could help students explore their vocational aptitudes and select their preferred departments in vocational high schools. However, some students may fail to explore their vocational aptitudes by enrolling in the courses of technical-art education program. This is an interesting issue for future study.
