This study focused on correlation between Mature Elders’ participating in Social Enterprises and participation motivation, life satisfaction, job satisfaction, and willingness to continuously participate. Surveys and observation were conducted on a specific Social Enterprise program that enabled Mature Elders to become storytellers. The results of the study show that, since Mature Elders’ access to higher education before the 1950’s was not common, they are more willing to try and to participate in Social Enterprises, and accept the challenges of new knowledge to fulfill their dreams. In addition, Mature Elders with less than high school education had significantly higher life satisfaction and motivation to participate in Social Enterprises’s Storyteller. Age differences, having children or not, lifestyle, and education levels all affect Mature Elders’ participation motivation. Statistical regression analysis shows positive impact of participating in Social Enterprises on life satisfaction, job satisfaction, and willingness to continuously participate. Mature Elders’ participation in Social Enterprise enhance their mindfulness, sense of belonging, and ability to give back to the society. Working as storytellers to promote public welfare activities can indeed enable Mature Elders to use their abilities and develop their second expertise. Through promotion and development of programs for Mature Elders, they will be able to continuously contribute and derive enhanced life satisfaction after join.
