行動電話功能選單之使用性研究

摘要

行動電話已不再只是單純的通訊載具，而是集眾多功能於一機的多媒體通訊裝置，但因行動電話功能的增加，使用者於操作行動電話時常會找不到需要的功能，以及選單圖像的辨識度不清，於是導致操作時易造成混淆。本研究目的為針對行動電話功能選單的使用性做討論與分析，瞭解行動電話使用者的需求，探討其操作介面設計上之差異與優劣，藉此提高使用者的操作效率。本研究分為三階段實驗：第一階段為「行動電話常用功能篩選」、「行動電話收集與篩選」與「預備實驗」；第二階段為「改善前模擬介面測試」；第三階段為「改善後模擬介面測試」。
　　第一階段實驗以問卷調查的方式進行使用性評估，主要分析行動電話使用者於生活上的使用經驗，依據統計出的各項結果進行探討歸納，以篩選出行動電話常用功能，提供後續實驗典型工作項目的設定。第二階段與第三階段實驗為行動電話功能選單改善前與改善後的模擬介面測試，參與改善前的前測與改善後的後測，皆給予各10位受測者及2位專家熟練者，依據所設置的11項典型工作項目進行測試，實驗完成後填寫主觀滿意度問卷，並以專家的平均時間作為標準，進行加權模式評比，最後將改善前與改善後的操作時間及主觀滿意度作為後續統計之依據。透過實驗的進行與分析後，研究結論如下：

（1）透過問卷結果得知，使用者有傾向將常用功能置於主選單畫面，能較 利於操作及使用。後續改良後的設計案將常用功能置於行動電話主畫面，的確能讓使用者更快速的尋找到功能。
（2）透過改良後的設計案，有效提升了行動電話圖像的辨識度，讓使用者能更直覺地尋找到功能。
（3）改良後的介面將行動電話操作流程階層減少，的確能有效降低使用者的心智負荷，並縮短操作花費時間。
（4）經由預備實驗、改善前實驗，以及改善後實驗的受測者所提供的意見，能瞭解使用者對於行動電話介面、圖像等，於使用性設計具體的優缺點，以協助未來研究者針對行動電話相關研究時的參考依據。

Mobile phones are no longer just a communication device, instead, it has become a multimedia device with various features. However, as the number of functions for mobile phone increases, users often fail to find the desired features when operating the phone, and the icons can also cause further confusion for users. This study aims to discuss and analyze the functional menu usability of mobile phone and to understand the need for mobile phone users. In order to improve the operational efficiency of user, the differences, the advantages, and the disadvantages of its operation on the interface design were also explored.
This study is divided into three phases: First phase includes "filtration of common mobile phone features", "collection and selection of mobile phones", and "preparatory experiments"; Second phase is “pre-improvement interface simulation testing"; Third phase is "post-improvement interfaces stimulation testing".
The first phase of the experiment was carried out by questionnaire. With focus on the usage experience of the mobile phone users, the common features of the mobile phone was selected based on statistics of the results, which provides the settings for follow-up experiments on task analysis.
The second phase and third phase of the experiment involve the testing on interface in the mobile phone functional menu before and after the improvement. 10 participants and 2 experts were assigned to each experiment to evaluate the designated 11 typical tasks, and a subjective satisfaction survey was also filled out after completion. The results were then compared by setting the average time of the expert used as standard, and the statistics on the operation time and satisfactory survey pre- and post-improvement were also analyzed.
Through experiments and analysis, the research findings are as follows:
（1）The questionnaire results showed that users tend to place frequently used functions on the main menu to facilitate operation and usage. Subsequent improvements of the design also indicate that placing frequently used functions on the main menu do allow users to find the functions quicker.
（2）Through the improved design, users are able to locate the desired functions intuitively by enhancing the degree of recognition of mobile phone icons.
（3）The improved interface reduces complexity of the mobile phone operation process and effectively reduces the mental load and the operation time for users.
（4）The feedbacks contributed by users participated in the preparatory experiment, pre-improvement testing, and post-improvement testing provide better understanding on the advantages and disadvantages of icons and user interface for mobile phones, which could also serve as a reference for future mobile phone-related researchers and designers.
