幼兒園英語教學之行動研究

摘要


本研究為幼兒園英語教學之行動研究,研究者透過文獻探討、訪談、觀察、省思札記及問卷來蒐集資料,進行一學期的教學來探討適合幼兒英語教學的方法及提升幼兒英語學習動機之教學策略。 本研究行動方案主要分為三個階段,包含: 一、觀摩期(研究者觀摩教學指導者) ; 二、協同教學期(教學指導者與研究者一同教學) ; 三、獨立教學期(研究者獨立教學),最後歸納出「適合幼兒英語教學之方法」、「提升幼兒英語學習動機之策略」及「幼兒英語教學之問題與因應策略」等研究結果。本研究之參與者包括研究者本身、教學指導者 、個案幼兒園教師七位及幼兒園四個班級之幼兒。研究結果如下: 一、適合幼兒英語教學之方法包括:「完全肢體反應教學法(TPR) 」、「角色及戲劇扮演教學法」、「玩偶動物對話教學法」、「與實際生活經驗連結教學法」、「韻文節奏英語及TPR教學法」、「英語故事教學法」、「重複對話練習教學法、「情境教學法」、「簡報PPT教學法」及「活動與遊戲教學法」。 二、提升幼兒英語學習動機之策略主要包括:「教學內容以幼兒生活經驗為主並以適當的教材來呈現」、「以豐富的肢體動作、語調、音樂、故事及活動來進行互動」、「教學的流程及教法需視幼兒的個性及班級風格調整」。 三、幼兒英語教學之問題主要包括「班級風格與學生個性差異」、「教材呈現的視覺效果」、「過度強調學習效果」、「教師上課情緒調整」、「教師發音正確度」、「教師應注意自身的言行舉止」、「學習活動示範者的年齡分配」、「課程秩序的掌控」及「幼兒參與活動的公平性」。 最後根據研究發現,研究者提出對政府、幼兒園、幼教老師、幼兒英語教師及未來研究的建議。

The aim of this study is to investigate teaching young children English in a preschool by action research. The data was collected and analyzed by literature reviews, interviews, observation, teaching actions, and surveys. The research took one semester to study the English teaching strategies and methods which could increase young children’s English learning motivation. Three major purposes are as follows: (1) to understand the suitable English teaching methods for young children; (2) to investigate teaching strategies about how to enhance young children’s English learning motivation; (3) to investigate the problems and solutions of young children’s English teaching. This action research was conducted for three stages: (1) Observing the mentor; (2) Teaching action with mentor; (3) Independent teaching by researcher. Each stage was included “to analyze English teaching methods for young children”, “English teaching strategies to increase children’s learning motivation”, “Teaching difficulties and solutions”. The objects of this research included: (1) researcher; (2) mentor; (3) a selected preschool; (4) eight preschool teachers; (5) children of four classes in a preschool. The results of this research are below: 1. English teaching strategies for young children: (1) total physical response (TRP); (2) drama action; (3) interaction with toys; (4) life experience connection; (5) rhyme with tempo; (6) English stories; (7) conversation repeat ; (8) situational language teaching; (9) power point (PPT) teaching; (10) games and activities. 2. English teaching strategies to enhance children’s learning motivation : (1) class planning should be combined with daily experiences and use the proper teaching tools; (2) teachers could interact with children by rich body language, tone, music, story, and activities; (3) teaching process and the teaching methods could be adjusted by children’s personality and class style. 3. Teaching problems and solutions : (1) different class styles and personalities; (2) overdo learning achievement; (3) correct pronunciation by the teacher; (4) teacher showed positive manners; (5) activities needed to be designed for different ages; (6) activities needed to be controlled well and equitable . According to the results, the researcher presented the suggestions for Taiwan’s government, preschools, preschool teachers, English teachers and future research plan.
