Science Curriculum in General Education: Ideal and Reality

摘要


本文從知識整合的觀點,提出三種型態的通識教育課程:從科技社會學觀點介紹科技的概念、應用以及評估技術發展對社會與人類生活的影響,從美學、科學的哲學以及科學思想史的觀點介紹科學觀念的創造與演變,以及從文化哲學的觀點探討科學方法的特質與極限。結語處並簡略討論通識課程發展與師實養成的幾個現實問題。

To present theories and concepts of natural sciences as organic parts of human knowledge in general education, this article proposes three approaches: introducing concepts and applications of science and technology and evaluating their effects on societies and human life both from the viewpoint of sociology, portraying the process of creation, development and evolution in natural sciences from the view points of philosophy of science and history of science, investigating the methodological strength and limitations of natural sciences from the viewpoint of culture philosophy. In the end of this article, practical issues concerning development of a curriculum and training of teachers are also discussed.
