According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), there have been between thirty and forth political armed conflicts in progress in each year of 1980s and 1990s. The political conflict still threats the newly democratic development in Asia, Africa, and Latin American. In this paper, I intend to introduce the theories of political conflict. The theories of political conflict include class antagonism, relative deprivation, resources mobilization, government regulation, dependency, intra-elite competition, cultural deviation, ethnic discrimination, and political opportunity structure, etc.
