地理學的區域研究進展與議題、尺度分析

區域研究是地理學的重要傳統。1980年代以來經歷新區域地理學、區域科學、新區域主義的理論與實踐，地理學的區域研究更形重要。本文一方面回顧地理學區域研究的進展；另一方面分析近20年台灣與英美地理學區域研究的議題、空間尺度等。本研究發現：1、傳統區域由給定的空間單位和強調區域差異的研究重心，轉變至多元尺度或關係網絡空間，以及區域也受地理學其他領域的重視而生產許多新的概念。2、產業與區域的研究議題同受台灣與英美地理學的重視，而台灣有偏重旅遊與地史的議題趨勢。3、區域與衍生關鍵字同受台灣與英美的大量採用，但是台灣使用空間相關關鍵字仍然居首，英美則較偏重地方相關關鍵字的使用。4、相對於英美研究，社區是台灣較多的研究空間尺度，國家則是英美較多的研究空間尺度。而台灣的縣市與英美的市郡同受重視；同時跨國尺度都有增加的趨勢。

Regional research is one of the important traditions of geography. Since 1980s, through new regional geography, regional science and new regionalism, the regional research of geography has become more and more important. This study reviews regional research progress of geography and analyzes regional research themes and scale of geography of Taiwan and UK、USA in the past two decades. This study concludes that the research theme of traditional region has transformed from given space unit and emphasizing area difference to scalar or relational space. Regional concepts are valued by sub-discipline of geography, and therefore many new concepts are produced. Secondly, industries and region research themes of geography are both paid much attention to in Taiwan and UK、USA, while Taiwan tends to emphasize tourism and geohistory. Thirdly, regional keywords and derivative keywords are both widely used in Taiwan and UK、USA; space keywords are most used in Taiwan, while the UK、USA use more place keywords. Lastly, scale of city/county and transnational scale are much more researched in Taiwan and UK、USA, but there is more community scale study in Taiwan, and, on the other hand, UK and USA focus on country scale.
