The result from the observation on adaptability of main cover crops, such as weeping love grass, bahia grass, and desmodium, to pH value of soil is as fellows: The adaptability scope of weeping love grass to the pH value is the vastest. It does a normal growth when pH value of soil is within 5.5 8.9. Bahia grass has the same adaptability scope as weeping love grass. But when pH value is within 5.5-7.9, its growth is the best. This is to say that the soils from light acid to light sodic soil is the best to the growth and production of bahia grass. Desmodium reacts to pH value of soil very sensibly. Soil with medium pH value is the best to its grow desmodium since they lower the production.
