In this study, We used the low level laser( diode, wave length; 635 nm) irradiate peripheral blood with different energy: 16 J/cm^2 (5 min)、32 J/cm^2 (10 min)、64 J/cm^2 (20 min)、128 J/cm^2 (40 min), to test lymphocytes chromosome mutation rate, the result of f blood lymphocytes irradiated by low level diode laser average is 4.20‰、3.99‰、3.80‰ and 3.57‰ (positive control: 14.41‰; negative control: 4.18‰). It was not significantly different in four test groups from P-test (P>0.05) compared with control groups. The results showed that Low level Laser Therapy could not induced mutation on peripheral lymphocytes. It has been found that mutation rate of white blood cell chromosome was reduced in higher energy density groups. It was consider that LLLT may have mechanisms to activate the chromosomes function, since further study is necessary to prove this hypothesis.
