timization analysis are used to explore a light-weightvehicle structure design of a utility vehicle. The staticbehavior of the vehicle structure is investigated by athree-dimensional finite element model. The feasibility ofthe proposed finite element model was confirmed bycomparing the numerical solutions with the resultsobtained from the experimental modal analysis (EMA).The results show that the redesigned vehicle structure hasan 18 % reduction in weight with the same material andstatic stiffness of the original vehicle.
