Seed-borne pathogens could enter into disease-free areas through long-distance movement with seeds. These diseases may be lead to bursting out severely in some area. Fusarium wilt, caused by Fusarium oxysporum, is one of the most difficultly controlled diseases around the world. More than twenty formae speciales of seed-bome F. oxysporum have been reported so far. The research related on the mechanism of seed infection and on the development of seed disinfectant techniques, was rarely studied. For controlling the seed-borne Fusarium wilt, the studies on the ecology of seed-borne F. oxysporum and on the development of seed treatments will be necessary in the future.
