People have put more and more emphases on leisure activities recently. Being involved in leisure activities can help people to build up their self-identities. This article aims to discuss the concept and the connotation of self-identity through literary analysis, and to understand how leisure involvement can strengthen self-identity. The research has found that when the concept of ”subculture” is formed in the leisure activities, it will refresh physical and mental condition and also increases the value of personal life. In addition, the forming of subculture will enhance the participants to strengthen their incentives to conduct leisure activities. This kind of attitude change will create serious leisure, and also speed up the development of self-identity.
