Many people search the Internet to meet their information needs. Studies have shown that schoolteachers are familiar with instructional resources on the web and integrate them into the classroom. In Taiwan, there are a number of online instructional resources, with Learning Fueling Station as one of the leading websites. Using the popular Learning Fueling Station as an example, this study will answer the following: How do schoolteachers navigate these online instructional resources? How do schoolteachers use Learning Fueling Station? Are schoolteachers satisfied with the content and interface of Learning Fueling Station? The study interviews thirty schoolteachers and includes observations of their searching behavior while visiting Learning Fueling Station. All schoolteachers reported that they use the Internet prior to designing their lesson plans. The two main reasons they gave for using the Internet were to refer to other teachers’ materials and obtain up-to-date information on their subjects, especially in areas relating to “Science & Technology” and “Social Studies.” Raw materials (e.g., photographs and video clips) and ready-to-use instructional packages are two popular targets that the schoolteachers search for online. They appreciate Learning Fueling Station’s commitment to quality, but report that the quantity of information is not enough to meet their needs. Additionally, they report that the search interface is suitable and that the most often used “Learning Area” and “Keywords” fields are indispensable. The study suggests the following to improve Learning Fueling Station. The amount of instructional resources must be increased, and the search interface must be simple and clear. The links should be updated regularly, and the discussion section must be enhanced.
