The Adopt of Innovation Strategy on City Airports Improvement by QFD

The four city airports in Northeast Asia include Songshan Airport, Hongqiao Airport, Haneda Airport, and Gimpo Airport. All the city airports are located in the capital or commercial center, these city airports were also used to be the only local international airport. Urban population and convenient ground access transportation bring potential business opportunities for airports, meanwhile, due to socio-economic development and land acquisition became difficult, leading to the airport expansion is not easy. It turned to a more distant from the town-center areas in the construction of large international airports. Therefore, face of significant growth with future performance and bottleneck of city airports, the traditional methods cannot effectively improve the plight of the city airports. furthermore, this study integrating Quality Function Deployment and TRIZ to develop Innovation Strategies on City Airports Improvement. After the QFD deployment, the first priority of innovative tools can be applied to improve the city airports includes conflict matrix, 40 invention principles, and ARIZ, followed by a trend analysis. Finally, the results of this study can be used as the reference for Songshan Airport Authority, but also a call for research in city airports innovation.
