Seasonal gonadal variation in the male oviparous skink, Eumeces elegans, is presented. Males exhibited testicular recrudescence in August and maximal testis mass occurred during September and October. Spermatogenetic activity regressed during April through July, when seminiferous tubules were mostly occupied by spermatogonia and few spermatocytes. Spermiogentic activity, significantly correlating with the testis mass, attained to its peak in September and October. Fat body mass increased to its peak in the pre-dormancy month, October. Neither temperature nor rainfall showed any correlation with testicular activity and testis mass.
