The nose is 1 of the most important characters in the human facial profile, and it is also a good reference for the evaluation of orthodontic treatment. However, there is little literature available regarding the Taiwanese nose morphology. Using cephalometric analysis on a total of 120 Taiwanese females, aged 12 to 15 years, the present study obtained cross-sectional growth data and clinical references concerning the size and shape of the nose. The results showed that the shape of nose did not significantly change among different ages, but the size significantly increased, mostly between the ages of 12 and 15 years. The nose morphologies between Taiwanese and Caucasian females are different, and Taiwanese young females show a flatter or somewhat more-concave nose dorsum.
