Legal deposit is an important means to collect, to record and to preserve culture heritages of a country. The policy also gives the public the equal right to access the information and reserves knowledge for the future. Government publications are records of administrations and are the important materials for the public to understand the government. The legal deposit of government publications in public libraries surely facilitates their public uses. However, due to the developing information technology, electronic publications are now gradually taking the place of traditional ones. For these electronic publications, we must now design a new legal deposit mechanism. The purpose of the article aims to investigate the legal deposit mechanisms of government electronic publications.
