原住民教育的論述分析：以四本專書為例

摘要

原住民教育論述在1990年代中後期大量出現，本研究視原住民教育論述爲社會製成品，原住民教育論述的呈現則是一個知識社會學的問題。
原住民教育論述近十年中有兩個重要的現象：數量上的激增及內容上的轉變。1990年代中後期，原住民教育論述與多元文化教育論述在數量上均呈現明顯的增長，而原住民教育論述除了原先的「偏遠地區」式論述，加添了「多元文化」式的論述。這兩種論述，前者無法觀照原住民的差異性，後者則是一種保守的多元文化觀。
並且，原住民教育論述隱含了兩種意識形態：「人力資本」以及「同化」的意識形態。這兩種意識形態其實都違背了原住民教育論述中「多元」的宣稱，並且「多元文化」的原住民教育論述，其實是呼應台灣政治中的族群議題。因此，「多元文化」的論述與「偏遠地區」的論述相較，對原住民教育而言似乎較爲進步，然而終究沒有從原住民主體的利益出發。

This paper analyzes two discourses on indigenous education, namely, ”education in remote area” and ”multicultural education,” that emerged in Taiwan after the mid 1990s. ”Education in remote area” is about educational standard. Under this paradigm, the main goal of educational policy is to improve the educational performance of the indigenous group in rural areas. The discourse of multiculturalism emphasizes cultural diversity; it criticizes the policy of cultural assimilation for oppressing indigenous culture. Multiculturalism is the more powerful discourse in Taiwan. However, advancing basically a conservative version of cultural diversity, it is just a policy of assimilation in disguise. This discourse of conservative multiculturalism serves as an ideological basis for nation formation in Taiwan.
