The concept of “Green Building”, to the understanding of the public in Taiwan, is still obscure and distant from their lives even though it has been pervasive in countries abroad. To be more specific, the general public might have vague awareness of the urgency and necessity of “Green Building” because of the promotion of the mass media in a short time but they can not precisely evaluate how urgent and necessary it is to their lives. Adopting the methods of field study and personal interviews, this thesis unravels that distinct discrepancies exist between the expected benefits and the real using experiences of green buildings. The in-depth report attempts to disclose the facts of the individual cases, analyze the drawbacks of the current green buildings, and proposes concrete suggestions so that it can arouse the public’s attention to the practice of green buildings and the significance of sustainable environment. This study also aims to inspire more follow-up reports and research of the topic.
