The first purpose of the research was to improve the surface quality of the part. For preventing ablation during high energy laser scanning for burn-out PVA (polyvinyl alcohol), high melting point silica sol was added to bind the particles. The surface quality of the part was improved, so increasing laser energy was useful. The second purpose was to observe the influences of material property after adding silica sol. After sintering, bending strength of the part decreased a lot. It was one of the major shortcomings of fabricating ceramic mold. The last purpose was to fabricate ceramic mold. The appropriate of laser scanning parameters, a ceramic mold could be completed. Finally, a casting part could be successfully fabricated through gravity casting, and the mode was undamaged. Current study proves that making ceramic mold with new RP process is feasible.
