本研究之目的在從探討以性別與社會因素來分析臺灣女性海外自助旅行前、中、後的經歷。本研究以多重個案研究方式,對6位女性受訪者進行半結構式深度訪談,輔以照片與文本來蒐集資料。研究結果發現:自助旅行的方式自1980年代施行觀光開放政策後在臺灣興起;1990年代交通的便利、出國手續的簡化、多元的旅行資訊讓臺灣女性有更多機會去旅行。2000年的新時代女性擁有高學歷、經濟自主、社會地位提升,加上全球「無國界」和「地球村」的召喚,讓女性海外自助旅行的門檻更寬闊。臺灣女性海外自助旅行有多重的動機;與家人良好的溝通能化解女性海外自助旅行的阻礙;旅行前的準備讓臺灣女性在旅途中有保障;美好與糟糕的經歷讓女性從中學習,透過海外自助旅行強化了女性主體性。
The purpose of this research was to explore the progress of overseas independent travel experience for Taiwan women. The research used multiple case study methodology. Six female were recruited for to semi-structured depth interview, supplemented by pictures and text to gather information. The result indicated that women travel to overseas with multiple self-motivation. Good communication with families could be a resolution to overcome the constraints of women overseas independent travel. Well preparation before traveling ensured the security of women in travel. Both good and bad experiences contributed to the identity of women. Based on the social environment factors, independent travel started to rise since 1980’s due to Taiwan open up policy of Tourism. In 1990’s, transportation convenience, the simplified procedures abroad, diverse travel information created more travel opportunities to Taiwan women. In 2000’s, the new era women with high level of education, economic independence, social status improved, with the world proposing “without borders” and “global village” concept, allowed Taiwan women to travel overseas more spacious.
