Foreign workers is a possible solution to population aging. This thesis aims to examine the effects of introducing high-skilled foreign workers on Taiwan. We construct an overlapping generations model featuring (1) the distinction of high-skilled and low-skilled workers in the production technology; (2) an endogenous growth of total factor productivity (TFP). The results show that introducing high-skilled foreign workers is beneficial to the economy and low-skilled domestic workers, while high-skilled domestic workers suffer from welfare loss. Overall, introducing high-skilled foreign workers is an effective way to mitigate the damage on aggregate output and government fiscal problem of Taiwan caused by population aging.
