高效能DSM-CC解碼器之設計研究

摘要


現今全世界的數位電視廣播系統,如ATSC,DVB,ARIB等,這些數位電視 廣播系統的互動式多媒體數位資料都是藉由DSM-CC物件輪播或資料輪播的技 術來傳送給數位電視接收器。 本論文的研究重點在於增進BML瀏灠器擷取互動式多媒體數位資料的速 度。藉由分析現行日規數位電視廣播系統業者所廣播的互動式多媒體數位資料, 加入擷取DSM-CC封包資訊的程式於現有的典型DSM-CC解碼器中。再經過分析 所擷取到互動式多媒體數位資料的DSM-CC封包資訊,發現互動式多媒體數位資 料的DSM-CC封包有三種資料特徵即標籤構件號碼、模組數目和資料大小。依 據這三種DSM-CC封包資料特徵,本論文把現有的典型DSM-CC解碼器中資料暫 存方法擴充成14種不同的暫存策略作設計分析。除了新型的DSM-CC解碼器暫存 策略,本論文也設計加入一個軟體分配器,相較典型DSM-CC解碼器本解碼器可 以有效減少一半的硬體章節過濾器的使用量。 最後本篇論文,實際將本新型DSM-CC解碼器架構加入現行數位電視接收系 統來作驗証。將此系統測試出來的數據加以分析及討論,並且提出新型DSM-CC 解碼器所改善的效能比較表,可以供給未來有應用到此類DSM-CC解碼器之系統 設計運用參考。

ATSC, DVB and ISDB are currently the major Digital Television Broadcast standards in the world. These standards defined the delivery of interactive multimedia data using DSM-CC carousels for the purpose of periodical transmission. In this thesis, we will focus on speeding up the BML browser to capture the interactive multimedia data. By analyzing the interactive multimedia data of the current Japan digital television broadcaster, we add the program to retrieve the DSM-CC packet information in the traditional DSM-CC decoder. With the analyzed DSM-CC information via the retrieved program, there are three characteristics in the DSM-CC data. Based on the three DSM-CC data characteristics, we expanded the cache method of traditional DSM-CC decoder into 14 different cache strategies. In addition to the new DSM-CC decoder cache methodology, a software section splitter, which be added to the new DSM-CC decoder can be reduced by half than the traditional DSM-CC decoder on hardware section filter usage. Finally, this purposed new DSM-CC decoder is applied to a real digital TV receiver system. With experimental results and analyzed the output data of the new system, we have proposed a time-memory cost table for future application of such a DSM-CC decoder reference design.
