Applying FPGA to digitalized control of the flyback converter

摘要


隨著科技時代的進步,數位化電源供應器已是必然的趨勢。因此本篇論文採用場效邏輯陣列(Field Programmable Gate Arrays, FPGA)以調控返馳式轉換器。早期數位控制需要搭配類比數位轉換器(Analogue-to-Digital Converter, ADC),然而較高精度之ADC,須較高的成本。因此,本論文提出無ADC取樣,只用一個比較器進行取樣,並將此應用於返馳式轉換器控制,以達降低成本之目的。所提架構之72W返馳式轉換器具有96V輸入電壓及48V輸出電壓,同時藉由硬體描述語言(VHSIC Hardware Description Language, VHDL)實現此數位控制,以驗證所提架構之可行性。

With advance in technology, the digitalized control scheme is a trend in the switching power supply. Therefore, in this paper, the FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) is applied to controlling the flyback converter. As generally acknowledged, the ADC (Analogue-to-Digital Converter) is indispensable in digitalized control. However, the ADC with high accuracy needs high cost. Consequently, the one-comparator feedback sampling without any ADC is presented herein, thereby causing the cost in digital control to be reduced. The constructed flyback converter has the rated input voltage of 96V, the rated output voltage of 48V and the rated power of 72W. By means of VHDL (VHSIC Hardware Description Language), the proposed digitalized control scheme is implemented, and is verified by some experimental results.
