The development of the touch panel industry is hindered by the quality of the manufacturing process which results in higher price. This research presents a procedure that applies six sigma program to improve quality in the manufacturing process of touch panels and use a case study to illustrate its feasibility. The performance achieved in the case company demonstrates that the manufacturing capability as well as the quality ratio can be significantly improved without facilities investment. Since there are complicated parameters in the touch panel manufacturing process, it is found out that the use of experimental design techniques is a critical success factor for the six sigma program in the case industry.
