從護理之家實務工作者觀點探討照顧服務員培訓課程之適用性

The Appropriateness of Nursing Aides Training Program: The Perspective of Nursing Home Staff

摘要


背景 照顧服務員是護理之家最主要的照顧人力,其所具備的照顧知識與技能是影響機構住民照顧品質的重要因素。 目的 探討培訓課程對滿足機構照顧服務員照護能力之適用情形。 方法 採質性研究,藉由深度訪談進行資料收集,收案對象包括護理主管及照顧服務員。自民國97年4月至98年3月間,於台中地區四家立案醫療機構附設護理之家,以立意取樣方式進行收案,共收案12人,並依Colaizzi資料分析步驟進行歸納整理。 結果 照顧服務員培訓課程之適用性主題包括提供全人整體性照顧、調整學習內容以提昇照顧能力、提供具有需求性的在職教育。 結論 培訓課程對住民照顧具正向影響,部分課程依臨床現況需進行調整,並加強在職教育的實施。結果可提供相關單位設計培訓課程參考。

Background: Nurse aides represent the primary source of support and manpower in nursing homes. Their knowledge and capability are, therefore, important factors that affect resident quality of care. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the appropriateness of nurse aides training programs with regard to enhancing nurse aides competence. Methods: This was a qualitative study. Data were collected from April 2008 to March 2009 using one-to-one indepth interviews with the twelve participants (nurse supervisors and nurse aides) from nursing homes affiliated with four domestic health institutes in the Taichung area. Data were analyzed based on Colaizzi’s methodology. Results: Findings may be categorized into three themes, including: 1) approaches to providing holistic care to nursing home residents; 2) amending training program curricula to enhance care capabilities: and 3) incorporating continuing education requirements. Conclusion: Current training programs were found to influence positively on the quality of care of nursing home residents. However, part of the training program may be amended and enhanced with regard to fitting in with nurse aides continuing education requirements. Findings may be used as a reference by organizations responsible for designing nurse aides training programs.
