國小學童家庭文化資本與閱讀動機之研究

Family Culture Capital and Reading Motivation of Elementary School Students

摘要


本研究的主要目的在探討國小學童家庭文化資本與閱讀動機之關聯與影響,採問卷調查法,以彰化縣國小五、六年級學生爲研究對象,採叢集抽樣方式,依據彰化縣教育處學校規模分類標準,區分爲大型、中型及小型學校,抽取學校進行施測,大型學校3所共6個班級、中型學校3所共6個班級、小型學校4所共8個班級,合計共10所學校20個班級,共計有效樣本493人。研究工具包含「個人基本資料調查表」、「家庭文化資本量表」和「閱讀動機量表」。調查結果分別採用描述性統計、t檢定、Pearson積差相關及多元迴歸等統計方法加以分析,有下列主要發現:一、國小學童在家庭文化資本變項中以「具體化形式」得分最高,在閱讀動機變項以「個人興趣」得分最高。二、不同性別、年級及不同學校規模國小學童在家庭文化資本達顯著差異。三、不同性別及不同學校規模國小學童在閱讀動機上達顯著差異。四、國小學童家庭文化資本與閱讀動機之間有顯著相關。五、國小學童家庭文化資本各層面對閱讀動機各層面及整體具有顯著的預測作用。最後依研究結果,對學校、家庭教育及未來研究提出建議,以期能提升學童閱讀動機,增進閱讀行爲之深度與廣度。

The purpose of this study was to explore the relation between family culture capital and reading motivation of elementary school students. The survey participants of this study were 493 elementary school fifth-grade and sixth-grade students in Changhua County selected through cluster sampling. Questionnaire was utilized as the method of this study. Questionnaires are given to students of 20 classes from 10 schools, including Basic Information Inventory, Family Culture Capital Questionnaire and Reading Motivation Questionnaire, were designed to collect data. The survey data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffé posterior comparison with the statistic software SPSS for 12.0. The results of this research showed as below: 1. The score on ”Objectified State” was highest in the Family Culture Capital of elementary school students. The score on ”Personal Interests” was highest in the Reading Motivation of elementary school students. 2. The score of Family Culture Capital was significantly different in gender, grade and school size. 3. The score of Reading Motivation was significantly different in gender and school size. 4. There was significant correlation between Family Culture Capital and Reading Motivation of elementary school students. 5. Subscales of ”Family Culture Capital” could be used to predict ”Reading Motivation”. Finally, based on the results, this study provides some suggestions to school education, family education and for future research.
