Neurilemmoma is not uncommon in the head and neck. However, its occurrence in the soft palate is very rare. A 24 year-old man had a painless, ovoid, soft, 2.5 × 1.5 cm mass on the right side of the soft palate for more than 6 months. This well capsulated submucosal tumor was smoothly extirpated transorally. After surgery, no swallowing, phonation, or focal neurological deficits were noted. The pathology report showed a neurilemmoma. Neurilemmoma is seldem considered in differential diagnosis of soft palate tumors. Diagnosis is often difficult until the definitive histology is reported. Total excision of the lesion is usually curative, and the neurilemmoma seldom becomes malignant.
