The purpose of this study was to understand the characteristics of residents in long-term care facilities. Demographic data, physiccal functions, activities of daily living, mental status and behavior problems of the residents were investigated. Results of this study revealed that residents were 53.84% male, 50.35% having stroke, average age was 73.49, and average institutionalized time was 17.03 months. Findings also suggested that 14.9% of them had poor physical functions and 4.9% of them had very poor physical function, 31.5% mostly dependent and 36.4% completely dependent, 60% demented and 55.24% having behavior-problems.
