明清白蛇故事的流變與現代《白蛇傳》的質變

摘要

「白蛇故事」是中國四大民間傳說之一，故事的雛型大致上比較可靠的說法是約起源於距今一千多年的北宋時期，本是蛇精、狐仙之類的妖怪幻化為美女迷惑男人，吸取男人陽氣的傳說，後來故事慢慢幾經演變，直到明代馮夢龍所編《警世通言》卷二八〈白娘子永鎮雷峰塔〉，白蛇故事情節才算定型。本文試圖從明代的社會環境探究白娘子的愛情困境，除了對白蛇故事考述其淵源及流變，並比較臺灣的表演藝術（戲曲、電影、雲門舞集、現代劇場等）呈現的《白蛇傳》，超脫明代婦女愛情之困境，跨入當代的同志論述，是「白蛇故事」系譜的質變，姑可名之為《白蛇傳》的接受史考察。
