This study aims to probe into the relationship among surfing participants' serious leisure, flow experience, self-identity and life satisfaction. A questionnaire survey was conducted in northern, eastern and southern Taiwan. The sampling was based on participants' serious leisure characteristic. A total of 400 valid questionnaires were retrieved, with a valid return rate of 90.5%. The model was verified by SEM (Structural equation modeling). The results showed that when surfing participants' serious leisure characteristic is more significant, flow experience is higher. However, it has a reverse relationship with self-identity and it does not significantly influence life satisfaction. When surfing participants' flow experience is high, their life satisfaction is also high and the influence on self-identity is more significant. Surfing participants' self-identity has a significant and positive relation with life satisfaction.
