The purpose of this study is to investigate the influences of organizational and personal factors on safety performance. A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted among employees within Taiwan High Speed Rail Contract in 2002. The number of respondent was 232, and response rate was 92.80%. Using multivariate analysis of variance, the researchers found that organizational labor safety and health staff, and personal workplace had statistically and practically significant effects on the performance. Although organizational contract level and personal operational classification had statistically significant effects on the performance, there is no enough evidence to prove the practical significance is existent. The organizational factors that influenced the performance is related to safety structure. And the personal factors that influenced the performance is connected to organization structure, potential risk and management. Lastly, the authors suggest that the managers should concern those important organizational and personal factors in order to enforce the continuous improvements and pursuit the excellent performance.
