摘要

本論文旨在討論筆者翻譯茱蒂•皮考特(Jodi Picoult)的著作Plain Truth一書的第一至四章時，筆者翻譯過程中的心得及想法。本論文分為五章，第一章「緒論」敘述筆者翻譯本書之緣起以及本論文之研究動機。第二章「原著介紹」中將簡單介紹作者茱蒂•皮考特以及其相關著作以及介紹Plain Truth的故事大綱。第三章「譯文」為筆者翻譯本書第一至四章的譯文。第四章「翻譯理論及實務探討」則包括翻譯理論的介紹，以及筆者於翻譯過程中所使用的翻譯策略與譯文分析。最後第五章「結論」將針對整個翻譯過程提出自評之心得，總結全文。

The objective of the study is to discuss the translating process and afterthoughts in the translation of the book Plain Truth(Chapter 1 ~ 4) written by Jodi Picoult. The thesis consists of 5 chapters. The first chapter focuses on the motivations and goals that the author wishes to achieve. The second chapter introduces the book writer Jodi Picoult and her biography, the content of the book to be translated, and a short explanation of how the translation process will be carried out. The third chapter is mainly the translation of the book’s first 4 chapters. The fourth chapter mentions a short literary review, and then explains the author’s pre-translation preparation, the comprehension and translation process, and, last but not least, translation strategies and analysis. The fifth chapter concludes the thesis by sharing some of the author’s opinions on translation and a review of the translating process.
