菸害教學活動對學童的吸菸知識、拒菸態度及拒菸技巧的影響

Impact of a Smoking Prevention Education Program on Knowledge, Attitudes, and Refusal Skills in the Elementary Schoolchildren

摘要

本研究的主要目的在瞭解一個菸害防制教學活動對國小學童的菸害知識、拒菸態度及拒菸技巧的影響。研究採準實驗設計，以台中縣某國小五年級四個班級學童為對象，隨機抽取兩班（68人）為實驗組，另兩班（67人）為對照組。實驗組班級以原建制接受本實驗課程，該課程有六個學習單元，每週實施兩單元（節）活動，以連續三週時間完成。經以前、後測得分差異與組別間得分差異作比較，結果顯示教學活動的實施，對學童的菸害知識、拒菸態度有影響，但對拒菸技巧之影響卻未達統計學上的顯著水準。以開放式問卷詢問實驗組學童對該課程的喜好情形，九成以上學童表示喜歡並願意再度接受該課程。課程強調菸害成分、菸與疾病關係的單元較不受喜愛，強調思考與技巧學習的單元普遍受歡迎。此外，合併該批學童（實驗組與對照組）填答資料作分析，發現暴露於家庭菸害環境者近七成五，約6%學童曾經嘗試吸菸，初次吸菸多始於家庭、男性家屬，尤其是父親與伯叔們會請學童吸菸。約有二成六成學童有把握勸告家人戒菸；超過九成學童對陌生人或不熟悉場所缺乏勸菸的信心與技能。
本實驗課程雖強調拒菸與勸菸技巧，可是卻只能對菸害知識與態度發揮即時效應。課程未能對拒菸與勸菸技能有所影響，本研究之研究限制包括實施期限過短，以及技能評價資料來自學童自陳而非實測。建議爾後研究宜增加課程實施時間或改善評量方式。此外，家庭菸害以及家人對學童吸菸的誘惑確實不可忽略，菸害教育應由學校擴展至家庭與社區。

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine impact of a smoking prevention education propram on knowledge, attitudes, and refusal skills of 5th grade schoolchildren. Four teaching classes from an elementary schools in Taichung County were recruited, 2 (N=68) were randomly assigned to the experimental group and the other 2 (N=67) were assigned to the control group. The students in the experimental group received smoking prevention education module two 40- minute sessions per week for 3 weeks, but the students in the control group did not. The data were collected by a self-reported questionnaire before after the completion of the intervention. The main findings are as follows:
1. The students in the experimental group significantly increased their knowledge of and attitudes toward smoking prevention but no significant changes were found in the control group.
2. Majority (80%) of the students in the experimental group expressed that they have learnt a lot from the program and 90% hope to join a similar smoking prevention education program again.
